Leeds 0 Oldham 2

A double strike from Oldham's Chris Taylor gave the Latics a priceless win at Elland Road over League One favourites Leeds.

It was Taylor who bagged Oldham's late winner in their seven-goal thriller against Millwall last week, and he broke the deadlock at Elland Road.

Andy Liddell, who grabbed two against Millwall, fed Lee Hughes who crashed his shot against the bar only for Taylor to nod home the rebound.

And Taylor had his second on 65 minutes with a fine 20-yard curling shot after good work again by Hughes.

MK Dons 1 Northampton 0

Aaron Wilbraham's solitary strike was enough to give Roberto Di Matteo's MK Dons a hard-fought victory over fierce rivals Northampton.

The 28-year-old former Oldham forward was on hand to turn home Peter Leven's corner from close range in the 66th minute.

Adebayo Akinfenwa, who bagged twice from the penalty spot against Colchester last week, missed a glorious opportunity in injury time to salvage a point for The Cobblers.

But MK Dons held on to take all three points and give Di Matteo his first taste of victory in League One at Stadium: MK.

Stockport 0 Leicester 0

Stockport keeper Owain Fon Williams was in inspired form at Edgeley Park as Leicester's assault on the Championship faltered in just their second game of the season.

The Wales under-21 international made brilliant saves from Matty Fryatt and Michael Morrison in the second half as the Foxes failed to make their domination count.

Stockport on the other hand offered little in attack and can consider themselves fortunate to grab a point as Leicester have still not conceded a goal all season.

Tranmere 1 Hartlepool 0

A single Craig Curran strike was enough to settle this thrilling encounter between two sides with genuine promotion aspirations.

Hartlepool, inspired by James Brown, had got off to a flying start to the season, scoring seven in two games against Scunthorpe and Colchester.

But it was the hosts who secured the points after 23 minutes as Craig Curran - the 18-year-old - smashed the ball home from 20 yards.

And despite some late pressure from The Monkey Hangers, Tranmere held on to ensure victory and, with it, their first points of the season.

Carlisle 4 Crewe 2

Danny Graham began his assault on the top scorers list with two goals in five minutes as Carlisle got off to a flyer against Crewe.

Graham topped the Carlisle charts last year with 14 and - after 18 minutes - he had put the hosts two to the good only for Chris McGready to pull Crewe back into the match on 20 minutes.

Graham turned provider on the hour mark to tee up forward Scott Dobie who tapped in from five yards and Simon Hackney completed the rout in the 76th minute.

There was still time for Crewe to pull another goal back through Tom Pope, but Carlisle cruised to victory in the closing stages at Burton Park.

Brighton 1 Bristol Rovers 1

A penalty apiece from Nicky Forster and Richard Lambert ensured the spoils were shared between these two evenly matched sides at the Withdean Stadium. Forster bagged his second in as many matches for Brighton after just ten minutes from the penalty spot after he had been brought down by David Pipe.

But the home side were left to rue their missed chances when Lambert converted his spot-kick with just four minutes left on the clock.

Matthew Richards was adjudged to have brought down the former Rochdale striker in the box as Lambert dusted himself down to bag his second goal of the season.

Hereford 1 Yeovil 2

Yeovil secured their first win of the season courtesy of two first half strikes from Danny Schofield and Paul Warne.

Two goals in three minutes put Yeovil on their way, at Edgar Street, as Yeovil secured their first win of the season.

Warne put the first on a plate for Schofield and it was Warne who grabbed the second on 22 minutes from six yards.

The Bulls got back into the game with eight minutes to go thanks to Bradley Hudson-Odoi's close range effort but an equaliser did not materialise as Yeovil held on for the win.

Peterborough 3 Leyton Orient 0

Peterborough cruised to victory in their first home match in League One thanks to a fine double from last season's 20-goal hero Craig Mackail-Smith.

Darren Ferguson's men had their first goal in League One on the stroke of half time when Mackail-Smith opened his account from the edge of the area.

Aaron Mclean, struck 33 times last term and he got off the mark on 50 minutes, when he pulled down Dean Keates' free-kick with his first touch and rifled the ball home with his second.

And Mackail-Smith put the game beyond doubt in the 70th minute when he grabbed his second of the game from close range.

Walsall 2 Scunthorpe 1

Jabo Ibehre grabbed his second late strike in a week as Walsall took all three points at home to ten-men Scunthorpe.

David Mirifn endured a nightmare start to his Scunthorpe career - sent-off for serious foul play just ten minutes into his debut after his £150,000 move from Huddersfield.

Gary Thompson had got Scunthorpe off the mark for the season with a well-placed header from 12 yards after smart work down the left from Kevan Hurst.

But immediately after The Iron were reduced to ten-en, Walsall were back on level terms through a stunning Marco Reich free-kick and Ibehre nicked the points in the 89th minute.

Cheltenham 2 Swindon 0

Ben Gill was Cheltenham's mid-week Carling Cup hero against Southend and as Gill who put the Robins on their way against Swindon.

Veteran forward Barry Hayles put Gill, who bagged a 115th minute winner on Tuesday, through on goal and he made no mistake from 12 yards just after the hour

And a Jennison Myrie-Williams header put the game to bed ten minutes from time when the forward, on-loan from Bristol City, powered home from ten yards.

Colchester 0 Huddersfield 0

The first game at the, wait for it, Weston Holmes Community Stadium finished goalless as neither of these sides, still searching for their first league wins of the season, could find the net.

Huddersfield put four past Bradford in the Carling Cup in mid-week but were unable to break the deadlock in this scrappy affair.

Former Everton forward Danny Cadamarteri was guilty of missing Huddersfield's best chance of the game but, for the most part, both defences were largely dominant.
