Kevin Maher: Now a Dagger joining Damien Scannell at Victoria Road
League Two rivals Dagenham & Redbridge have been busy over the weekend and have confirmed four signings today.
Of most interest will be they have picked up released Gillingham released midfielder and former Shrimpers skipper Kevin Maher.
Ex-captain Kev did have a trail at Yeovil after failing to agree terms on a new contract with the Gills but that wasn't followed up.
However, he's found gainful employment in East London, as close to his former home in south-east Essex as damn it.
The other players joining the Daggers, in fact they could be the new Gillingham A side taking over form us, are former Hereford and Gills utility man Richard Rose, as well as an ex-Bulls trialist in striker Sam Williams, and someone Tilly didn't want, released Lincoln City midfielder Luke Howell, who also played for the Kent boys, er, once.
We play D&R away on Saturday, November 19th and at Roots Hall on EEB's birthday, so drinks on him in the Spread, Monday, January 2nd.
